JANET OLSSON, Director of Events
Janet Olsson cultivated her extensive hospitality experience in some of the nation’s top restaurants. She helped celebrity chef Bobby Flay open his first Manhattan restaurant, where she met her future husband Jeff. She then spent a significant portion of her career managing the exclusive Restaurant Nora in Washington D.C. As director of events at New West Catering, Janet works closely with each client, from the initial proposal stage to the event itself. She also maintains excellent relationships with top vendors to assist with seamless event planning. Janet believes that there are no shortcuts to “full service” catering. She and her staff take pride in eliminating the complexity of event planning so that you can focus on your goals and your guests.
JEFF OLSSON, Executive Chef
Jeff started cooking in restaurant kitchens at the age of 15 and later honed his skills under the tutelage of some of the nation’s most renowned chefs, including Mark Miller, Dean Fearing and Bobby Flay. Among other positions, Jeff served as executive chef at Miller’s Red Sage restaurant in Washington D.C., and he later became chef at Restaurant Nora, the first certified organic restaurant in the United States. As executive chef at New West Catering, he combines his affinity for fine dining with the customization of full-service catering, personally selecting and preparing artisan ingredients to achieve his emphasis on fresh, flavorful cuisine. His insistence on quality is rarely found outside of the best restaurants. The result is a unique catering experience in which the art of fine dining is fully integrated into your event.
